Download Driver For Wd My Passport 0748 Usb Device Install Update
Alright, here's the issue: I have a WD My Passport that is acting odd. I can plug it into my computer, and it checks it, recognizes it and then nothing. I can't access it or do anything useful with it. When I click on it there's an anomaly, the volumes page is blank. I can tell it to populate, but it doesn't do anything. Anybody able to help? More about passport a recognized access.
Have you looked at the drive is Disk Management? If not, look there and see what it says about the drive. Can't find your answer? There is something amiss if there is nothing under volume and the file system is blank. When you right click is there an option to change the drive letter or path or an option to format? Is this a new drive or one that you have had for a while? What is the total capacity of the drive? I only ask because Can you see it in Windows Explorer or My Computer?
If yes, what options do you see if you right click on the drive and click on properties? I wanted to add that I'm having the exact same issue. I disconnected it from my usual computer and plugged the drive into a different computer. It powered up, computer detected it, and automatically installed all of the drivers.
Cannot browse device in My Computer Can't even see the device there, for that matter. No drive letter is assigned, and it's completely absent. Can see the device in Disk Management.
Showing up as a 2TB drive. Status is "Not Initialized". At a total loss. The drive is there, but nothing about it is accessible. There are a lot of important photos on this drive, I would hate to lose it. Best Answer was deselected per the OP's request.
I'm new here and I'm afraid I've selected to "post an answer" when I actually want to add that I too am having this same issue with the particular WD Passport and it has worked fine until July 6th. Any help would be greatly appreciated because like everyone else, I've got files I can't replace stored on this external storage device. I can't help but wonder if it doesn't have something to do with a recent Microsoft update maybe?
Thought I'd share what I have found. Mine was doing the same thing. This didn't start until this week after having downloaded Windows 8. The cord that came from my passort works with my camera but will no longer work with the WD passport. Nonetheless I was able to recover everything on my external drive and will be purchasing another one as a back-up even though this one appears to be operating normally now.

In this page, you can find the speed test results of USB 3. USBDeview make this test by writing a large file into the USB drive, and then reading back the same file to getting the read speed.
