The installation instructions are on a tab Installation Instructions on the page where you download it from. I did it, still it does not work. My suggestion now is that you 'restore' your laptop to a time before the problem started.
Think back to when it was working properly. Was it last October, November, Christmas perhaps? This is NOT reinstalling Windows, this is restoring it to an earlier time so that it will be like what is was then. You will not lose any of your data that you have entered since that date BUT any new programs apps that you have installed since the date you choose to restore it to will have to be reinstalled and any programs apps that have been updated including Windows, Anti Virus etc will have to be updated again.
Here is a link which shows how to do it. Thank you, changing the usb touchscreen controller actually worked. I've been trying to fix this for about a month. Thank you so much. Every single comment this user made is exactly what happened to me, throughout all the troubleshooting.

There are ASUS drivers available for download on their site specific to that exact model even , but they don't have the touchscreen driver available.
My touch screen still isn't working. It's a fairly new laptop. The only thing I can think of is that a wire connection is loose, but then you'd think the entire monitor would be off?
The monitor itself has two drivers. One says something to the effect of basic monitor. The other monitor driver is hidden and has the same error code I was under the impression that you had a HP laptop as this whole page is about HP laptop touchscreen problems.

I found out that HID -compliant touch screen device is hidden. So, I turned on the "Show hidden devices" in "View" and got it. But now, I see that there's no "Enable device" when i right click it.

Hi I dont have a touch driver for my laptab LTW because i changed my original os wnidows 10 to windows 8. So please suggest me some ideas. The moment I uninstalled and restarted the ATK drivers from Programs the touch screen worked again after restart ; an error regarding the USB charging however popped up.
Installing the latest drivers and another restart got everything back to normal. What about this same issue with a Dell tablet? Got about a dozen with win 10 on them. Ran some updates Friday and the HID touch drivers and the rest are missing. Windows update won't pick them up.
Can't find the driver's online. One thing I found valuable is to look up your graphics card manufacturer and see if they have software to install that will update your driver for you; NVIDIA does this, and it got the right drive installed to both get my touch screen working and get various settings that were previously locked to be changeable again.
I'm not understanding how you resolve the HP touch screen not working when the HID-compliant touch screen device is grayed out. I'm afraid to uninstall because some people say it doesn't come back.
