Intel Gma 900 Windows 7 Driver Download Install Update
CNET's Forum on Windows 7 is the best source for finding help or troubleshooting advice from a community of experts. Discussions cover Windows installation, driver problems, crashes, upgrading, service packs, and other Windows 7-related questions. I've read up a lot on the type of card I have in my machine.
I recently installed Windows 7 and everything is working fine on it apart from Aero. If I try personalise my window colour it won't let me. If you try troubleshoot the problem it just states "Video card driver doesn't support Aero effects.
I've looked online and there seems to be a lot of people with same problem, however there doesn't seem to be a fix or driver. Most of the posts about it date quite far back too. If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
So since Intel didn't put any kind of software rendering fallback function into its drivers and the GMA has long since hit EOL, you're basically SOL unless you buy an actual video card and put it into your system and if it's a laptop that won't be an option. BTW you did have to install the XP driver as you found out at http: You never corrected me about trying it with a certain browser.
If you check the 3rd last post in that thread at the end of the first paragraph I typed "intel site with the driver detection tool wouldn't work" Even in IE.. Anyway with regards to this, when I get the chance.. I'll change my video card, as like you say they arent expensive and it would solve practically all graphics issues within Windows 7. It's low profile, usually comes with LP and FH brackets and if you get the 1GB memory version, it's the last great hurray upgrade.
